bellydancingAmala

Amala Gameela is a stunningly beautiful dancer who specializes in folkloric Middle Eastern dance and Egyptian cabaret. She began studying Middle Eastern Bellydance with Diana Shahein and continues to study with other accomplished professionals from the United States and Egypt.

Amala's flashing black eyes and 1,000-watt smile light up the stage, and her exciting performances range from delicate and flirty to fast-paced and energetic. In her breath-taking signature piece, Amala balances a lit candelabra on her head, but is equally comfortable spinning a golden cane. She regularly performs throughout the tri-state area, at various festivals, restaurants, weddings, and private parties and also teaches.

As a tremendous lover of birds and wildlife, Amala Gameela has sponsored several workshops and professional shows geared toward donations for non-profit wildlife organizations. She recently earned a B.S. in Environmental Studies from East Stroudsburg University and currently works as a Conservation Educator at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Amala's passion for parrots brought her to the remote jungle of Manu, Peru, where she spent two months working to save fledging Scarlet Macaws as well as studying tropical ornithology in Costa Rica. She continues to volunteer and assist wildlife rehabilitation centers, conservation groups, and parrot organizations across the world.

Learn mesmerizing movements from the Near and Middle East while experiencing a fun way to exercise and develop coordination, balance, and grace with Amala Gameela. She teaches weekly dance sessions in the Poconos and the Lehigh Valley as well as private lessons and workshops. Amala is eager to share her knowledge of Middle Eastern dance, music, and culture with women of all ages.
